Think we take our holiday and weekend too seriously? Wait until you see the lavish brunches on offer around the city!

It’s better to book ahead to avoid disappointment and all the brunches offer plenty to entertain the kids – from TV set ups and colouring stations to mini bouncy castles, carousels, and believe it or not, pony rides.

This is your chance to really sit-back, relax, and pack on the pounds! Not too worry, we’ve been known to unbutton our jeans at the end of the day too.

Il Mare
Delight your palate at this popular Sunday “free flow wine” brunch, serving up the best in Italian cuisine. Choose from an array of cold cuts and fresh seafood to roast beef and turkey at the carving station. And it’s not as if the Chefs aren’t busy cooking up a storm, they even make time to bring samples to the table. Be sure to leave plenty of room for dessert. Your choices: cakes, mousse, chocolate fondue, or gelato? We choose all four!
Il Mare, Hotel Mulia Senayan, Jl. Asia Afrika Senayan, p. +62 21 5753272 or +62 21 5747777 ext. 4708, 4588. Sunday Brunch: 11am-230pm.

Journey around the world in just 3 hours and savour what the world has to offer at this open-kitchen buffet. Begin in India for some hot curries, pappadums, and naan bread, then hop onto China for some noodles and dim sum. Next on the itinerary is the land of the rising sun to sample sashimi and sushi. Then duck back to Indonesia for some local fare. Special mention must go to the jamu stall, which offers traditional herbal concoctions to cure any illness. We give two thumbs up for Satoo’s new and unique open-air extension, which overlooks the hotel’s lush gardens and butterfly-shaped pool.
SatooShangri-La Hotel, Kota BNI Jl. Jend. Sudirman Kav. 1, p. +62 21 29229999. Sunday Brunch: 11am-230pm.

For a brunch that’s a little different, try Lobo. The appetisers and desserts are buffet-style, but the mains, ranging from pasta, rib-eye steaks, and fish, are all a la carte (so be sure to leave plenty of room). The highlight? A never-ending martini menu and wait for it… it’s all free flow! The hardest decision to make is which ones to order before your time’s up for brunch.
Lobo, The Ritz Carlton, Jl. Lingkar Mega Kuningan Kav. EI No. 1, Kawasan Mega Kuningan, Kuningan Timur Setiabudi Jakarta Selatan, p. +62 21 25518881. Sunday Brunch: 12-230pm.

Seasons Café
For a more relaxed atmosphere, try Seasons Café at The Four Seasons Hotel. The buffet spread is top notch with fresh oysters, prime rib, and salmon en croute.  We love the cheese raclette station. Even the desserts are a feast for the eyes (and our bellies), but the chocolate fountain gets us every time! Kids have their own buffet table with favourites like spaghetti, nuggets, and fries.
Seasons Café, Four Seasons Hotel, Jl. Hr. Rasuna Said, Jakarta Selatan, p. +62 21 2523456. Sunday Brunch: 12pm-3pm.
