Have you ever watched a movie and fell in love with a musician or band that appear in the film? For too many movies about bands or musicians (not biopic about the band or musician that has existed), and of course there are some better known than others. Call it The Sex Bo-omb from the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Infant Sorrow from the movie Get Him To The Greek, and The Blues Brothers from their self-titled movie.
The following is a list of some FICTICIOUS bands/musicians that is not less cool with the band / musician legendary. To coolness character bands/musicians who called is not only calculated from the music they performed, but also of the name, appearance, as well as their behavior in these films. While some bands from the following list appears only briefly, but it is no less fit with the others. This list is made at random, and of course personal opinion from me … 😀
The Bang Bang (from a movie ‘BROTHERS OF THE HEAD’)
Brothers of the Head is a mockumentary genre movie from 2005, featuring the story of conjoined twin brothers from England who became a musician. The film is based on a novel published in 1977 by the same name, by author Brian Aldiss science fiction. The Bang Bang is the name of the band in the film, which brings music Punk Rock.
Hedwig & The Angry Inch (from a movie : ‘HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH’)
This film is a musical comedy-drama American (2001) adaptation of the musical stage play of the same name, about a Rock band fronted by East German transgender singer. The film was adapted and directed by John Cameron Mitchell, who also plays Hedwig. The music and lyrics created by Stephen Trask. The musical has had a loyal cult following.
Autobahn (from a movie : ‘THE BIG LEBOWSKI’)
Autobahn is a German Techno band, played by Peter Stormare, Torsten Voges, and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Clearly they are a parody of Kraftwerk, yet their music is equally cool. Just think, Techno Band from Germany’s creation of The Coen Brothers can not be disappoint … Hit them titled “technopop (Wie Glauben)” written and performed by musician Carter Burwell.
The Weird Sisters (from a movie : ‘HARRY POTTER & THE GOBLET OF FIRE’)
A dream band with members: Jarvis Cocker (Pulp), Johnny Greenwood (radiohead), Jason Buckle (All Seeing I), Steve Mackey (Pulp), Steve Claydon, Phil Selway (Radiohead)! unfortunately they only formed in the imaginary world. They appeared at the school dance scene in the third Harry Potter film, “Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire”. one of their ballad “Magic Works” is also featured in the end credits of their films.
The Bleek Gilliam quartet (from a movie : MO’ BETTER BLUES)
Denzel Washington to portray her coolness Bleek Gilliam, jazz trumpeter accompanied by his band. The film is filled with the homemade band performances, the music is actually played by The Branford Marsalis Quartet and Terence Blanchard trumpet player.
Hong Kong Cavaliers (from a movie : ‘THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI ACROSS THE 8TH DIMENSION’)
With members consisting of: frontman Buckaroo banzai (Peter Weller), pianist Rawhide (Clancy Brown), sax player Reno Nevada (Pepe Serna), guitarist Perfect Tommy (Lewis Smith) and Pinky Carruthers (Billy Vera), as well as backup dancers plus pianist New Jersey (Jeff Goldblum), a fictional band is arguably the world’s legendary cult classic. You could say this is a band full of experimental synth sounds mixed Funk. Film The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension is the work of a cult classic in 1984, so you can imagine how cool this band.
The Trailer :
The Venus In Furs (from a movie : ‘VELVET GOLDMINE’)
Sexy is a word that could describe the entire movie, let alone the main band of the display. A fictitious band like Ziggy Stardust style and the Spiders From Mars also has a lot of his cult followers. Brian Slade, the band’s frontman Jonathan Rhys Meyers played by, who also sings his own songs.
Dewey cox (from a movie : ‘WALK HARD : THE DEWEY COX STORY’)
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story is the American musical comedy (2007), written and produced by Judd Apatow and Jake Kasdan, directed by Kasdan and starring John C. Reilly, who in addition to his own plays also sang all the songs in this movie . This film is a parody of the biopic which many exist. The number of original songs with different genres of music that fills the film is truly stunning, so is the voice actor John C. Reilly.
The Looters (from a movie : ‘THE FABULOUS STAINS’)
The looters consists of Paul Cook and Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Paul Simonon (The Clash), and actor Ray Winstone. This film is a ’80s cult movie about three girls who eventually joined a punk band. The looters is one of the fictional band featured in the film.
Nick Rivers (from a movie : ‘TOP SECRET!’)
This one is one of my personal favorites, as portrayed by Val Kilmer in a silly movie legendary, long before the superclass role as Jim Morrison in The Doors…Hahahhaaa…its just like Elvis Presley in the 80’s !
Of course there are many bands and musicians fictitious worth mentioning here, but maybe we save it next time! Alright…!! ;D C ya everybody…xoxo, Metha aka M’sDailyLife sign off! ;p
